Calling her own number, Maggie Ntim’s history is made as a soccer agent

If you work in the entertainment industry, having names like 50 Cent, Nas, and the late Nipsey Hussle appearing on your resume puts you in elite company. When you’ve been recruited by companies like Coca-Cola, Universal Music Group, Viacom, and Madison Square Garden, you are clearly a valued business mind. When that’s all true about one person, they are a special talent. Let me introduce you to Maggie Ntim, a Black woman that is paving the way for women and minorities in soccer representation.

Maggie Ntim, a native of Queens, New York, is the founder of Trinity 3 Agency, which provides services like soccer agent representation, sponsorship procurement, and public relations. “I selected Trinity 3 for a few reasons, one being that the word Trinity is best described as “state of being three”and the number three is my favorite number,” Maggie told BGN. “The real inspiration behind the name came whenI had experienced an interesting time in my life and was in a very different mind space. I remember reading my favorite scripture, Psalms 91:2, and it reminded me that I can do all things through Christ as long as I trust in the Lord, prepare myself, and walk by faith.”

“By following this motto and remembering these three things I know nothing is impossible. This helped me focus and narrow down the main three core services I wanted to provide within the agency which are marketing, management, and experiential events. I can honestly say it hasn’t been easy but truly blessed to have amazing partners, clients, and staff.”

Now, she’s continuing to establish herself on the soccer scene, having done business with or represented players like Samantha Johnson, Kylian Mbappe, Midge Purce, Jadon Sancho, and BGN’s own Hugh Roberts. “I’ve always been a fan of soccer growing up. It was my second love after basketball,” she said. “Unfortunately, I wasn’t provided the opportunity to play at a young age so I chose to play basketball.”

As a soccer agent, she’s able to combine her business acumen with that love of the beautiful game. But, it’s something else that she loves most about her job.  “What I enjoy most about being a soccer agent and working in the sport is the people. I’ve met some of the most amazing people who became clients, friends, business associates, and extended family,” Maggie explained. “The players stories are amazing and to see them get out there and give it their all on the pitch and do great things off the pitch makes me happy.”

“When my clients are truly happy with their contracts, endorsements, and foundations then I know I’m fulfilling my purpose. It’s truly an amazing global sport, and even better job. I love it!”

Maggie’s success so far would be impressive for any individual, but the fact that she’s had to get around additional hurdles as one of the few Black women in the soccer agent world makes it that much more special. How does it feel to be where she is right now as a founder of Trinity 3 Agency? She answered, “I’m happy that I didn’t give up after many people told me I wouldn’t make it as a business owner, but there’s more work to be done. I won’t be satisfied until I know there’s three times as many women ones and led companies.”

With her unique knowledge of the business and marketing side of things and soccer, Ntim expects the sport to continue its rise on the business side her in the United States. She said, “From my side of the business with a marketing background, I believe soccer in America will grow to be one of if not the biggest sport in years to come. On the commercial side, brands can definitely invest more into the men side, women side, and even grassroots level. By investing into the sport even more now brands will be ahead of the game by the time the sport becomes number one in the States.”

In her career thus far, Maggie’s already worked with top musicians and soccer stars. If she had to make a pre-match playlist for a soccer player only using music from artists that she’s worked with on some level, what five songs would she pick? Maggie said, “Well, this is good cause I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most amazing talent in the world. ‘Victory Lap‘ by Nipsey Hussle, ‘The World Is Yours‘ by Nas, ‘God’s Plan‘ by Drake, ‘I’ll Show You‘ by Justin Bieber, and ‘I’m The Best‘ by Nicki Minaj.”

As she looks to break barriers and push Trinity 3 to the next level, Maggie Ntim continues to make choices that determine her future under the sky, as well as other women and minorities looking to follow her path.
