The 2019 USL Show Team Draft Results

Last night, the 2019 USL Show Team Draft took place. With 36 clubs now in the USL Championship, there were six squads to be drafted: Evan Vilella, Kevin McCamish, Phill Grooms, Pony, Ryan Allen, and a “Fan Team” featuring guest drafters Alan Underwood, Ben Goshorn, the legend Harry, Jason W of League 1 Fun fame, and yours truly, Carson A. Merk.

The draft order was Kevin, Fan Team a.k.a. Between the Sticks Mafia, Pony, Phill, Ryan, and Evan. One twist was Evan not being able to attend, leaving his selections up to the consensus of the show and live YouTube chat room. It was a snake draft, meaning the order reverses each round with the top and bottom teams getting back-to-back picks.

Below, we have the round-by-round breakdown and final squads.

3rd round: Swope Park Rangers, OKC Energy FC, Real Monarchs SLC, Ottawa Fury FC, Tampa Bay Rowdies, New Mexico United

Reporting live from Sin City, I have covered both RGVFC and Las Vegas Lights FC since their inceptions. I also write profiles to highlight players from the NCAA to USL to NWSL and everywhere in between.
