Super Swirl Summary: SAC 1, LV 0

In the final match of their first season, Lights FC dropped a 1-0 result on the road.

Las Vegas Lights FC ended their inaugural season with a 1-0 loss to Sacramento Republic FC. It was a scrappy affair that saw both sides get physical after the whistle with nine total yellow cards. The win saw Sacramento jump over Phoenix Rising FC for second place in the Western Conference going into the playoffs.

Early on, it was Thomas Olsen playing hero for Lights FC. Facing the team that he went on loan with earlier this year, the Las Vegas goalkeeper made a couple big stops to keep the match scoreless. His finest moment came in the second half when he made a massive double save to deny the hosts.

Finally, in the 55th minute, Sacramento broke through as Cristian Eissele teed up Cameron Iwasa for a finish from point-blank range. It was his 17th goal of the season. Republic FC held an edge on total shots 12-9 and shots on target, 6-1. They also carried the majority of possession, 59-41%.

Between the small skirmishes and wayward shots, Lights FC never found an equalizer. They end their first season with a record of 8-19-7, good for 15th place in the USL Western Conference.
