Sources: Joaquin Rivas Returns to Tulsa

The transfer front has been mostly quiet for the USL Championship with mostly mere announcements of players returning to their 2020 clubs for next season. But, sources tell The Beautiful Game Network that Salvadorian attacker Joaquin Rivas will be returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma as a member of FC Tulsa, pending league approval of course. Rivas previously played for the club when they were known as Tulsa Roughnecks FC in the 2017 & 2018 seasons. Rivas has been with St. Louis FC since leaving Tulsa. With Saint Louis, he was slowed down by injuries, collecting only 3 goals and 3 assists in 21 appearances in all competitions. Joaquin’s most prolific season came under the Roughnecks in 2018, where he racked up 12 goals in the USL Championship, a club record. The former star at UNLV also played for Sacramento Republic FC as a professional.

It is also rumored that Rivas will receive a call up to El Salvador’s National Team when they take on the US Men’s National Team in Fort Lauderdale (adjacent to former home of the Strikers) on December 9th. He has 1 goal and 5 caps for La Selecta.  -PG
