Lights Match Preview #29: LV at Reno

Lights FC will travel north to face their rival, Reno 1868 FC, for the third and final time.

In the first year of the Silver State Cup, things have been razor thin between the two Nevada clubs. Las Vegas Lights FC had to settle for a draw at Cashman Field and were defeated by Reno 1868 FC at Greater Nevada Field on a last-second goal. Now, the clubs meet for the third and final time, the first without the recently departed Chelis.

Last Time They Met

With things trending towards a 1-1 draw, Reno 1868 FC got a winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time from Antoine Hoppenot.

Opposing Players to Watch

Brian Brown: The club’s leading goal scorer with 13. The speedy Jamaican can change the game at any time.

Antoine Hoppenot: He is arguably the most talented player on the roster. He has nine assists on the campaign and scored the big winner in the last Silver State Cup match.

The goalkeeper: JT Marcinkowski has been a big-time player in goal for Reno this season on loan from San Jose Earthquakes, but he made his MLS debut this week and it might be unlikely he appears in this match. In that case, it would likely be Matt Bersano or Kyle Ihn, who have four starts between them.
