Dom’s Last Dance + Return of the USL

In this special episode, Jeff Wendt re-joins the show to cover USL’s Phoenix Rising with Kyle Maki for Dominic’s last episode as a co-host of Rising as One before photographer Ashley Orellana takes Dominic’s place.

The guys discuss the importance of Phoenix Rising’s supportive stance on #BlackLivesMatter, including its statement last weekend and club video during the week.

Then they move to the USL’s proposed July 11 return date. They discuss rumors of a potential 16 game regional schedule, and debate whether Phoenix would be better off in a “Pacific Division” or “Southwest Division.” The likelihood of a 2020 US Open Cup is also discussed, with Dominic explaining why he thinks the MLS’ Orlando Cup is a sign there won’t be an Open Cup this season.

The episode ends with a departure from any script. Domnic, Jeff, and Kyle take a trip down memory lane and reflect on the importance of the Rising as One podcast. Enjoy, and as always, Go Rising!
