A Light Preview: Match #30 vs. Austin Bold FC

Following a three-match homestand, Las Vegas Lights FC are on the road vs. Austin Bold FC today.

Las Vegas Lights FC are in the Lonestar State for a Sunday showdown with Austin Bold FC. The clubs met in the opening week and we look at how they match up in Matchweek 30.

Looking at the Lights (9-12-8)

Last week, Las Vegas got back on track after four matches without a win. The Lights took down Fresno by two goals and that team is second on the table in the West and ended Phoenix Rising FC’s record-breaking winning streak.

The club’s all-time leading scorer Irvin Parra will need to turn in a good performance on the road. He’s been quality at home for most of the season, but he hasn’t produced much away from Cashman Field.

We’ve entered the final five matches of the season and the club sits four points below the playoff cut line. As I’ve mentioned before, this is the time of the year where draws won’t get the job done. The club must secure their second away win of the season to keep their slim postseason hopes alive.

Previous meeting vs. Bold FC: Draw, 0-0

Andre Lima: The 34-year-old Brazilian leads the club in goals with ten and his 62 shots are more than twenty above second-best on the squad.

Sean McFarlane: He has 160 crosses this season and has created a team-high 40 chances. The Jamaican full-back has seven assists on the year and also leads the club in tackles, duels, and duels won.
