On a special Fair Weather Podcast, Chris and Alan have a brief discussion about the Player’s Association and the news surrounding ongoing player pay negotiations. The league put out a statement. The PA responded, and people on the internet rallied. After that, Chris and Alan discuss what might be the next steps and where they think the league stands.
Next, this two part episode continues to an interview with Tumi Moshobane. Tumi was nice enough to join us a few weeks ago. It was before teams were allowed to train in small groups, so we do not get into that. The interview starts with his youth days with the Kaizer Chiefs FC. They are one of the premiere teams in South Africa. Next, Tumi talks about transitioning to college. He also mentions how important his family was in continuing his soccer journey. His community college experience introduced him to Coach Nate Miller who he runs into again at Lansing Ignite last year. After that he talks about what moving up the levels in the United States. He mentions how it boosted his confidence in his playing ability.
After Chris jumps in, they talk about Tumi’s career path if he wasn’t in soccer. Tumi discusses what he’d want to do and a possible career path after his playing days are over. Last we discuss some of the things Tumi’s been up to during Quarantine and he opens up about phone calls home to his family.
We’d really like to thank Tumi Moshobane for coming on and chatting with us. This interview was also part of our written piece about Loyal players during the lock down. Find it here!
