We have a special guest to get into some stadium talk. Marisa, Chris, and Alan welcome in their soccer friend Dike Anyiwo. Dike is the Vice Chair of the Midway-Pacific Highway Community Planning Group. He came on and dropped a ton of knowledge about the background of how our city works.
Next, Dike talked about the two plans that are going to the City Council right now. He talked about what’s included in each. I know which one we’d prefer, and that is one for a temporary stadium for the San Diego Loyal.
After that, we talked process. Dike filled us in on how we got to where we are, what is happening now, and what will happen next. Luckily, those who made it through the Soccer City shenanigans won’t have to deal with a citywide campaign again.
Lastly, Dike filled us in on housing and the height limit portion of the project. We are excited to see the Midway area change for the better, because it will benefit that area, but also San Diego as a community.
After Dike dropped all that knowledge, the team discussed the most recent game against Los Dos. Alan and Chris debated wether the first half was good or not for San Diego. Everyone agreed with the team that the match was not good enough for San Diego, but we trust that the players and coaches will figure it out.
The team briefly previewed the Las Vegas match as well.
We will have Dike Anyiwo back on to give everyone updates on the project and the Midway area over the next several months.
