SheBelieves Cup Recap

In episode #317 of the Mixxed Zone, Jen “The Keeper” Cooper returns from an unplanned “winter break” to talk SheBelieves Cup, the recently announced 2021 NWSL federation allocations and more.

First Jen discusses February’s SheBelieves Cup results and highlights with Orlando Sentinel soccer reporter Julia Poe, as well as the new NWSL allocated player list and the potential implications of players who opt out of allocation.

Then Jen talks with former WPS goalkeeper Alli Lipsher about her years as a pro player, her transition to the coaching ranks almost a decade ago, and her new role as goalkeeper coach for Kansas City, one of the NWSL’s newest clubs.

This week’s “Jensplaining” segment covers some of the definitions of NWSL roster jargon – “international player” versus “international slot,” federation players, and more. Updated NWSL rosters by club can be found on the WoSo Nerd Links page of KeeperNotes.com.
