NWSL Northwest

In episode #320 of the Mixxed Zone, Jen “The Keeper” Cooper catches up with two NWSL reporters about their respective beats — the Portland Thorns and OL Reign, the two clubs that make up “NWSL Northwest” — the league’s most intense Pacific Northwest rivalry.

In the first chat, Jen talks with Katelyn Best of Rose City Review about the Thorns’ relatively lean but experienced roster, how the club will handle this summer’s Olympic window and whether Portland’s goal-scoring momentum from the successful 2020 Fall Series will carry over to this month’s Challenge Cup.

Then Jen talks with Jacob Cristobal from SounderAtHeart about the Tacoma-based OL Reign as it heads into the second season under head coach Farid Benstiti, with a wealth of international players and several NWSL up-and-comers.

The “Jensplaining” segment this week covers how to watch the upcoming NWSL Challenge Cup, whether you’re in the USA, Canada or anywhere else on the globe!
