Opposing Players to Watch
David Estrada: His eight goals are a club high. The 30-year-old does a good job of getting on to the end of loose balls in the area and he has a 38% conversion rate.
Denso Ulysse: The young defender leads the club in interceptions, tackles won, and duels won. He also provides pace going forward for S2.
Three Keys to a Vegas Victory
Don’t Give Them Early Confidence
Sounders 2 are struggling mightily right now. The Lights cannot allow them to score an early goal and gain confidence. You don’t want the underdog to ever think they have a chance.
Keep the Press on the Keeper
When the clubs played in Vegas, Sammy Ochoa nearly blocked a clearance from Calle Brown before actually doing so shortly after for his second goal. Ochoa’s first goal that night was also created by pressuring the goalkeeper off a rebound. If Las Vegas can make Brown uncomfortable, they could find an easy away goal.
Sharp on Set Pieces
Omar Salgado showcased what a high-quality free kick can do when he won the match against Timbers 2 from a dead ball play. Lights FC should continue their season-long trend of creativity and class from set pieces against Seattle.
