Lockdown Lowdown: Callum Irving

Pacific FC goalkeeper Callum Irving is sharpening his skills in the kitchen and on the sticks while he can’t star on the pitch.

USL-veteran goalkeeper Callum Irving was getting ready to start his first season in the Canadian Premier League with Pacific FC. But, the COVID-19 pandemic has put the CPL’s second season on hold. He said he is hoping that all of the Pacific supporters are staying home and staying healthy and he’s excited to do his best for the club when the time comes.

The former RGVFC and Ottawa Fury shot-stopper has been occupying his time, outside of working out, like a lot of other soccer players: playing video games, watching shows and movies, and also cooking.

Irving’s been watching The Outsider, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Seinfeld for series and A Hidden Life and Ford vs. Ferrari for movies. He’s been playing the new Warzone game mode on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Star Wars Battlefront 2.

In the kitchen, he’s been making meals like turkey chili, pasta bolognese, grilled chicken with sweet potatoes and broccoli, and chicken tacos.

Callum is always up-to-date on the latest music, too. Check out the Spotify playlist that he’s put together during this time. With skills between the sticks on the pitch, on the sticks in video games, and in the kitchen, the 27-year-old will make quite the eligible bachelor once the social distancing restrictions are lifted. (Ladies in the area, feel free to give Callum a follow on Instagram or Twitter in the meantime)

Whether you are listening to Callum’s playlist, watching TV, or playing video games, all of us at the Beautiful Game Network want to make sure you are following the latest restrictions and staying healthy!
