Lights Preview #26: LV at Reno

Tonight, we get to see the second edition of the Silver State Cup.

After an exhilarating 2-2 draw against Fresno FC at Cashman Field, Las Vegas Lights FC travel to the northern half of Nevada to face Reno 1868 FC.

Last Time They Met

The first Silver State Cup finished all level at Cashman Field. Alex Mendoza scored in the 27th minute for Vegas, only to allow Danny Musovski to equalize for Reno less than a minute later.

Opposing Players to Watch

Brian Brown: He leads the club in goals with 11 on the season. The Jamaican target forward also has two assists.

Antoine Hoppenot: One of the best playmakers in the USL, Hoppenot has nine assists this campaign, good for a fourth-place tie in the league. He has created 45 chances, 20 more than second place on Reno’s leaderboard.

JT Marcinkowski: The San Jose Earthquakes loanee has been a star for Reno this season. The starter for the MLS Homegrown Game during the All-Star festivities, Marcinkowski has four clean sheets and 53 saves. He came up huge in the first meeting between these teams, tipping a shot over the bar in second-half stoppage time.
