League One Fun – Episode 77: Week 6 and Charlie Dennis

Before Week 6 of USL League One is discussed, FC Tucson attacker Charlie Dennis joins Jason and Ira to discuss his career arch. Charlie went from the south of England to college in the United States. But he has USL roots in League Two with South Georgia. He was a member of the inaugrual of the league playing with Tormenta’s first team. Finally he moved this off season move to FC Tucson where the heat is more bearable.

Week 6 – Bangers and Deflections

Jason and Ira discuss week 6 and take keep dives into three matches with brief reviews of the others. They begin with Richmond’s win against New England Revolution II in Foxboro. Then move to Chattanooga’s loss at home to South Georgia Tormenta (who get their first win of the season). Finally they discuss North Texas hosting Union Omaha to a 2-2 draw with each team getting red cards in the 51st minute. Ira gets on his soap box with his analysis of what he thinks North Texas is doing so differently than last season when they were so dominant.

What is League One Fun

League One Fun is the Beautiful Game Network podcast that covers the entirety of USL League One. Jason and Ira discuss the third tier and lowest tier of professional soccer. The two conduct player, coach and front office interviews as well as review matches and league news. Independent franchises include Greenville Triumph, South Georgia Tormenta, Richmond Kickers, Chattanooga Red Wolves, Forward Madison and Union Omaha. The league also includes USL Championship Phoenix Rising’s second team FC Tucson. There are now five MLS2 sides. These include Fort Lauderdale CF (InterMiami), New England Revolution II, Toronto FC II, North Texas SC (FC Dallas), and Orlando City B.
