Hats Off to Rufat

This week, Kyle and Dom recap a dominant 6-1 home win over Timbers II. They discuss Rufat’s sublime debut, Asante’s clinical passing, Sam Stanton’s surprise start, and Portland’s questionable decision to bring a U-20 squad down to face the reigning regular season champs.

Then they preview a much tougher match against Real Monarchs this upcoming Saturday, and wonder if Devin Vega will start against his former club.

The guys then recap the Western Conference results, including Oklahoma City’s home loss to Colorado Springs, and Las Vegas using Junior Burgos’ electric strike to draw San Diego Loyal 1-1.

The episode finishes with mentions of Phoenix Rising joining the US Soccer Developmental Academy system with Steve Cooke directing the academy. And of GK Landon Carter becoming the 3rd Phoenix Rising academy player to earn a professional contract after Brandon Keniston was loaned to FC Arizona, where he started in a 1-0 debut win.
