Episode 130 – New York Red Bulls II goalkeeper Wallis Lapsley

Joining the show this week is Wallis Lapsley, goalkeeper of the New York Red Bulls II. He started his first professional match last weekend. He talks about his journey to the professional life, and what he is looking forward to this season.

We also talk about the disappointing start to the season for the ‘Montclair Minors’. Despite a large number of MLS loanees, the young kids struggled against a more experienced Tampa Bay Rowdies squad. NYRBII managed just two shots on target, well below last seasons expectations.

Is this just a slow start for the squad? Is the shortened preseason to blame? Or is a mysterious supernatural force at work? Spoiler alert, it isn’t the last one. This week we tackle the positives and negatives of the opening day loss, and look at the squad as a whole after their debut.

Raising Bulls is a podcast dedicated to the New York Red Bulls of the USL. Each week, Joe Goldstein, Bill Twomey and Anthony Merced will be recapping the week that was. They will also be previewing each of the team’s upcoming matches and occasionally  joined by guests from all levels of the NYRBII organization. If you care about the future of the New York Red Bulls, you’re listening to Raising Bulls.
