Bummed but Not Sad

With Marisa out this week, Chris and Alan are bummed but not sad. That is the case with Marisa being out, but also San Diego Loyal getting eliminated from the playoffs. Before they get into the match, they talk about some of the big news around the league.

First up is Detroit City FC being announced as a new USL Championship team. Chris and Alan share their thoughts about the pros and cons of a team like Detroit coming to the league. There are a lot of unanswered questions in Detroit. There are even more for NISA as it figures out how to move on.

Next, they discuss the big news locally. The San Diego NWSL team has a new name. The two were not bummed or sad about that news, but they are cautiously optimistic.

Finally the part we dreaded. The part that makes us bummed but not sad is the playoff match between San Diego and San Antonio. Chris and Alan talk about their reactions to the match. They then listen to the post match press conference. After that, they talk about what Landon Donovan have to say. The discussion moves to the wild results from around the league. We are sure there are other fan bases who are more than just bummed. They are probably sad too.

They wrap up the pod previewing next week’s show.
