A Light Preview: Match #2 vs. OKC Energy FC

Las Vegas Lights FC begin their road schedule with a trip to Oklahoma to face OKC Energy FC.

Tomorrow, Las Vegas Lights FC hit the road to take on Oklahoma City Energy FC in their second match of the USL Championship season. We preview the action between the Western Conference foes.

Looking at the Lights (0-1-0)

After opening their season with a draw at home vs. Austin Bold FC, the Lights will face OKC Energy FC on the road. In the match vs. Austin, Thomas Olsen, Tripa, and Alex Harlley were standout performers.

Last season, these two clubs played in two very different matches. In Oklahoma, ten combined goals were scored in a 6-4 win for Energy FC. In the loss, Raul Mendiola recorded the first-ever hat trick in club history.  When they met in Sin City, only one goal was scored in a 1-0 OKC win.

Who you should know: OKC Energy FC (1-0-0)

Deshorn Brown: The Jamaican striker scored a brace in OKC’s win vs. El Paso Locomotive FC last week. As you can see below, League 1 Fun’s Jason Weintraub predicted a big season for Jamaican strikers in the USL Championship and Brown is off to an early start.

Atiba Harris: An MLS veteran defender, Harris was able to tally six clearances and three interceptions against Locomotive FC.

Cordell Cato: After Brown scored the brace to put OKC up vs. El Paso, Cato added the third goal. He made over 100 appearances for San Jose Earthquakes from 2013-2017.
