A Light Preview: Match #11 vs. Phoenix Rising FC
With two home wins in the past week, Las Vegas Lights FC will travel a state over to face Phoenix Rising FC tonight. We preview the duel between these desert-dwelling sides.
Looking at the Lights (4-4-2)
The Lights have only lost one time in their last five league matches. They enter tonight’s match on a three-match win streak in all competitions.
According to the club and his own social media, Kevin Garcia-Lopez returned to training late this week. There is a very slim chance he appears tonight. Despite his absence, the Lights’ defense has played well in recent matches.
In the attack, Sammy Ochoa is rounding into top form after an injury kept him out of the lineup early in the year. He scored the first goal in the club’s US Open Cup win over Cal FC and pairs well with the power of Irvin Parra or the pace of Preston Tabort Etaka.
Way to go, Ochoa! 👍
After a very even opening, veteran Sammy Ochoa ghosts in to head the host @lvlightsfc into an early lead over amateurs @Cal_FC.

Junior Flemmings: The Jamaican has been a key performer for Rising FC this season, featuring in all ten matches. He has four goals and four assists.
Adam Jahn: In the past few seasons, the club primarily played Didier Drogba and Chris Cortez up top. Now, it’s former Columbus Crew man Adam Jahn wearing the #9 and scoring goals for Phoenix. The 6’3” striker has a club-high five goals on the year.
