A Light Preview: Las Vegas Lights FC try to end their slump in SoCal vs. Orange County SC

After a midweek loss to Oakland Roots SC, Las Vegas Lights FC will try to break out of a seven-match losing streak when they face Orange County SC tonight.

Las Vegas Lights FC (5-16-2)

It’s been eight straight matches for Lights FC without a win. When was the last time they tasted victory, you ask? July 27th…against Orange County SC. Can they put an end to this lengthy drought against the last club they defeated? It will take a complete effort from Steve Cherundolo’s squad.

The performance from the Lights on Wednesday in a loss to Oakland Roots SC was a solid step in the right direction. They put Oakland on the back foot through portions of the match, made limited mistakes, and didn’t face a huge disparity in shots. It was one miscue from Mohamed Traore that cost Las Vegas in that match.

Tonight, we will see how many loanees come down from LAFC as the MLS side returns to action tomorrow vs. Real Salt Lake.

Mohamed Traore: As a defender, mistakes will happen. It’s part of the game. The perfect way for the 19-year-old to move past his costly error vs. Oakland would be to stabilize the backline on the road vs. Orange County SC and maybe even doing some damage on the end of a set piece.
