90Plus Podcast: Episode 40 – Jay Demerit interview + first glimpse of preseason

Welcome to the 90Plus Podcast, the newest addition to the Beautiful Game Network. The 90Plus Podcast features game recaps, player ratings, one-on-one feature interviews, and a whole lot more. The two co-hosts, Ben Righetti and Sebastian Pereira, are a pair of up-and-coming soccer journalists in Vancouver, covering the Vancouver Whitecaps for over a year now.

For our first episode of the 2021 (pre)season, the guys are joined by former Whitecaps captain Jay Demerit to chat about his career both in England, as well as with Vancouver. Playing for both Watford, Vancouver, as well as the US Men’s national team, you would be right in thinking that Jay has a lot of stories to tell. Look no further than the 16:12 mark of Episode 40 if you want to hear all about Demerit’s crazy story to the pinnacle of football.

Ben and Sebastian also go share their thoughts on Vancouver looking to purchase another right back, as Bruno Gaspar appears to be on his way to the Whitecaps. They also give their initial thoughts after the first week of training camp, and review each of the new MLS jerseys for 2021.

We are brought to you by Ruffneck Scarves and Icarus FC. Ruffneck Scarves is the place to go for all official MLS, USL, and U.S. Soccer scarves. They also do custom scarves for your group or team. Icarus FC is turning the custon soccer kit market on its head.
