Fair Weather Podcast celebrate 50 podcasts with guest Amani Walker. Marisa, Chris and Alan talk with Amani about his history and some San Diego soccer history as well. After they pressure Amani into grabbing a drink, they talk through his development and his journey through NASL. It includes stops in Minnesota where he played with current Loyal player Miguel Ibarra. It also included some USL mainstays like Tampa Bay and Orange County (who were called OC Blues back then). Next, they discuss his current job at his Alma Mater where he currently coaches.
Next, Chris and Alan take the discussion to food. Amani shares his love of Jamaican food and wings. Find out if he is a leg guy or a flat guy. He give some local food suggestions, which Alan takes notes of. Next Amani drops some music knowledge and he chats with Chris about black culture and how to include that into supporters groups locally and in general.
The four then break down some of the action against Phoenix Rising. They talk about the good and some of the not as good. They highlight a lot of the improvement we’ve seen on the pitch. Amani shares his perspective as a former player.
Lastly, the team talk about the upcoming match against Las Vegas. It’ll be a good match, but will be a tough one due to the field size and the temperature at game time.
We’d like to thank Amani Walker for stopping by and chatting with us for our 50th episode. We hope that he becomes a recurring guest. Let us know what you thought about having him on.
